There is such abundance
in mountain peaks veiled
in vaporous purple-hue;
wind as it whips through eucalyptus
releasing bounties of precious oil

Snow-white beaches
outlined in black seaweed,
where sensually-curvaceous bays
hug tightly to jutting,
weathered, limestone cliffs

Matchless silence in the desert,
a splash of vibrant wildflowers,
the rippling heat-haze
as it skips and flits
over red ochre carpets

Heady scent of wattle
saturates both air and senses
Paint’s night skies black canvas
with perfumed varnish
over flickering stars

The setting sun
dipping below the horizon
blanketing my surroundings
quenching my soul
with a feeling of tranquillity
